Nineteen Eighty-Four (1954)

After The Atomic War the world is divided into three states. London is a city in Oceania, ruled by a party who has total control over all its citizens. Winston Smith is one of the bureaucrats, rewriting history in one of the departments. One day he commits the crime of falling in love with Julia… They try to escape Big Brother’s listening and viewing devices, but, of course, nobody can really escape.

90to5 Editor Bio: I am a freelance editor and i love everything Film.
I find editing so rewarding, creative and fun. I hope you like my 90 – 5!

I chose 1984 to edit down as it was a great classic text. Often classic texts don\\\’t date, relevance can be found in them always. The thing i like about the BBC version of 1984 is it is incredibly dated with a complex plot. I found it a wonderful challenge trying to tell the entirety of the plot in 5 mins. I chose to edit the entire plot rather then just a love story, or a big brother story or a new world order story, so try and keep up! Now there will be no need to read a pesky classic text and waste your valuable time. Hope you enjoy it 🙂
